Understanding Your Result Card

Learn what each component of your SSC or HSSC result card means and how to interpret your marks.

What's on Your Result Card?

Student Information

Your name, roll number, registration number, and exam session are displayed at the top. This information uniquely identifies your examination record.

Subject Names and Codes

Each subject you took is listed with its code. For SSC, this includes compulsory subjects (Urdu, English, Mathematics) and elective subjects based on your group.

Marks Obtained

This column shows the actual marks you earned in each subject. It reflects your performance in the written examination and any practical components (if applicable).

Total Marks

The total marks for each subject are shown for reference. Typically, SSC and HSSC subjects have a total of 100 marks each (or 50 marks for some optional subjects).

Grade

Your grade in each subject is assigned based on your marks. Grades range from A+ (90-100) to F (below 40). See the grading system details below.

Notes and Remarks

Any special remarks or notes appear here. This may include information about absences, disqualifications, or other administrative notes affecting your result.

BBISE Grading System

BBISE uses a standardized grading scale to evaluate student performance. Here's how marks are converted to grades:

Grade Marks Range Performance Level
A+ 90-100 Excellent
A 80-89 Very Good
B 70-79 Good
C 60-69 Satisfactory
D 50-59 Acceptable
F Below 40 Fail

Pass and Fail Criteria

Passing Grade

You pass a subject if you score 40 marks or above (Grade D or higher). To pass your overall examination, you must obtain passing grades in all compulsory subjects.

Failing Grade

You fail a subject if you score below 40 marks (Grade F). If you fail any compulsory subject, you must appear for the supplementary examination or re-take the exam in the next session.

How Your Marks Are Calculated

Written Examination

The majority of your marks come from the written examination conducted by BBISE. This typically accounts for 75-80 marks per subject.

Internal Assessment / Practical Work

Some subjects include practical work, projects, or internal assessments conducted by your school. These marks are added to your written examination marks.

Total Score

Your final marks for each subject are the sum of written examination marks and internal assessment marks (if applicable).

What If Your Marks Seem Incorrect?

If you believe your marks are incorrect, BBISE provides a recounting service to review your answer script.

Recounting Service

Recounting is a process where your answer script is reviewed to ensure marks were correctly added and recorded. This is different from challenging the marking itself.

Fee: PKR 200 per subject
Timeline: Typically completed within 2-3 weeks of submission
How to Apply: Visit any BBISE branch or contact our office with your roll number and subject code

Improvement Examination

If you're unsatisfied with your grades, you can appear for an improvement examination in the next exam session. Your new marks will replace your previous marks if they are higher.
